Get Switched On!
Switched On Law is our student-to-student survival guide, packed with study secrets and tips for succeeding at Charles Darwin University.
Our Switched On Law guide has a special focus on Law courses, but it also contains useful tips and information relevant to all new LBA students.
Here are our top three tips from the Law guide:
1. Don't let the weekly readings get on top of you.
The more you avoid them, the more they'll pile up. Try summerising them in note form, highlighting the legal principles involved for quick future reference.
2. Are you a night owl or an early bird?
Students with families often find it easier to read for long periods at night or early in the morning when the home is quiet, and do follow-up writing activities during the day in short bursts between family demands.
3. Navigate the law library databases.
Early on, learn how to navigate the library's law databases as recommended by your lecturer. You'll be able to access Australian and international essays and articles covering every aspect of the law.
