Student E-Reserve FAQ's

Are all course reading materials available electronically?

At present the E-Reserve is a pilot project and includes a small number of pamphlets and articles recommended by lecturers participating in the project.

Dependent upon lecturers, in the future, it is anticipated that all journal articles and individual book chapters on lists received by the Library are made available electronically.

At present, whole books cannot be accessed electronically. These will still be available from STL from the Library.

How do I access E-Reserve?

You can access E-Reserve from the link on the Library home page. Only CDU students and staff can access E-Reserve. Authentication (login and password) is required.

How do I know what to find?

You can access items search by Keyword, Title, Author, Unit Code, Lecturer, Year or Date if you have that information. Otherwise you can browse Titles a-z, Author, Unit Code, Lecture, Year and Date list.

How can I increase the print size on the screen if it too small to read?

Click on the magnifying glass icon on the tool bar which is immediately above the text, place your cursor over the text where you want it, and click again.

How can I print and download?

Internet Explorer:

  • PRINT - open document in Acrobat Reader, select Print from the file menu. Select the "Shrink to fit" option after clicking print.
  • DOWNLOAD - Right mouse click on the link and choose Save target as.

Netscape:

  • PRINT - open document in Acrobat Reader, select Print from the file menu. Select the "Shrink to fit" option after clicking print.
  • DOWNLOAD - instead of opening- hold down the shift key when you click on the title. This will bring up the Save As dialogue box.
