Off campus examination arrangement information for students studying in external and flexible modes

Please submit invigilation advice for summer semester including supplementary and special examinations from S2 2008 by cob 23rd January 2009.

Failure to make invigilation arrangements and to return the appropriate form by the due date may jeopardise a student's opportunity to sit for examinations. All students with the exception of those residing within 80km of Casuarina and Alice Springs Campus must submit invigilation details. Please do not fill out and submit a form if your unit does not have a scheduled end of semester exam. Check with the relevant lecturer of the unit if you are not sure.

Students who live over 80 km from a CDU campus/centre should submit an off campus exam arrangement form no later than four weeks before central exam period to enable details to be processed and examinations dispatched to nominated exam institutions/supervisors in a timely manner.

Please make yourself familiar with examination dates for each semester/period and make your supervision arrangements with either a nominated venue or a private invigilator if you do not have access to a local institution or organisation who cannot provide this service. When you have booked your exam/s, please fill out the exam arrangement form and submit details to us. Students cannot please themselves on what time/day to sit examinations.

Examination dates and times will be available under Current Students/Timetables linked from the front page of the CDU web site. The first draft becomes available approximately six weeks before the exam period but a check of the final timetable needs to be undertaken four weeks before the exam period.

Exam supervision advice forms will not be accepted after our deadlines. Students studying in external/flexible mode who live over 80 km from campus will receive an email to their CDU email account in the weeks leading up to exam period.

If you have submitted a supervision advice form but have to change venues, or cannot sit the arranged exam please ensure that you notify us of new arrangements or relevant other advice as soon as possible.

Please ensure that you have allowed yourself time to make alternative family and employment arrangements as applicable in order to sit a scheduled exam. If you need to discuss difficulties or seek special consideration for any medical or personal issues that may interfere with scheduled examination arrangements please contact Support and Equity Services.

Interstate exam locations

If you live within 80 km of any Tertiary Institution you should make arrangements to sit at the one most convenient to you. Alternatively you may use another institution/campus not listed if staff are willing to invigilate your exam. You should not use private exam supervisors unless you are in an area where you are unable to access a local institution or organisation of some type who cannot offer this service.

Other institutions, particularly universities, run two exam sessions per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Within Australia, these times generally overlap the times that exams are in session on CDU campuses. If you have an exam scheduled for a time that doesn't at least partly coincide with a specific institution's time lines, please contact us for further advice. If you have booked an exam with another institution but need to cancel, please advise the relevant institution at least 24 hours before your exam, otherwise any subsequent costs invoiced to us may be passed on to you. Photo identification must be available for presentation on arrival at examination.

Please contact the relevant campus/centre before you submit your form.

Application forms: Special consideration/special examinations

If you have applied to sit a special exam and your application has been approved or you have been offered a supplementary, we would appreciate it if you would submit an off campus exam arrangement form as soon as possible and no later than two weeks before the week that these exams are held as time is needed to process forms and mail out exam papers. Any other queries relating to special or supplementary exams should be directed to the Student Services Exams Team.
