Borrowing Responsibilities
Your responsibilities to the library are to:
- make yourself aware of regulations, policies, opening hours etc.
- have your student, staff or borrowers card with you to borrow
- ensure that no one else uses your card as it is not transferable
- report the loss of your card immediately
- accept responsibility of all items borrowed on your card
- protect library items from damage or loss
- return items on time
- return all library items before travelling away from home in case someone else requires them
- check your online borrower record regularly as due dates change if items are recalled
- whilst library notices are sent, these cannot be relied on due to occasional email problems
- return items promptly if Recalled as other borrowers require them
- Activate your Student Computer Account so that you can receive Library Notices.
- ensure the library has your current contact details - update your contact details from the StudentNet or Staffonline website
- check your email regularly for library communication (for students this will be your CDU student email account)
- pay library fines and other charges
The library's responsiblities to you are to:
- make current information on library regulations and policies readily available
- ensure that library rules and regulations are followed by everyone else
- ensure the privacy of your information
- welcome your enquiries
- consider your suggestions
