- is a national borrowing scheme that allows all staff and students of participating Australian Universities to borrow from each others libraries.
- ULA does not replace the home institution as the primary supplier of information resources and services.
- ALIA TAFE Libraries Advisory Committee
- The TLNRBS scheme allows VET (TAFE)students and staff to register and borrow materials from any other participating host TAFE library in addition to services from their own home library.
- Who can apply to join CDU Library?
- Northern Territory residents studying at other Australian universities or TAFE/VET institutions and living within 80km of Darwin, Palmerston or Alice Springs are eligible to join CDU as a reciprocal borrower.
- Batchelor Students
- Batchelor students are eligible for reciprocal membership.
- Batchelor staff can join as honorary academics

Students an OUA unit offered by CDU
- can join as a Reciprocal borrower and
- can access eResources, such as databases and eReserve. Contact usfor a password.
- Contact Distance services, if living further than 80km from the nearest CDU Library.
- Are not eligible for use of Library or other student computers.
Students studying an OUA unit from another University
- Can join as a Reciprocal borrower only if enrolled with another University (usually means studying other units apart from OUA)
- Must join as anAssociate borrower if not enrolled at another University and must therefore pay membership fees.
- Documentation required to join CDU Library
- Photo ID.
- Your current student card (must have a date) or a copy of your current enrolment advice.
- Proof of residency, within 80km of Darwin, Palmerston or Alice Springs.
- Your university student email address; a confirmation email will be sent to you.
- Staff also need to provide a copy of letter of offer of employment or a current payslip.

- The Library will issue you with a card.
- No Interlibrary loans
- View loan periods and conditions.

- You will need to purchase a card for $2.

- Guidelines
- Borrowing must be done in person
- Distance Library Services are not available to reciprocal borrowers, with the exception of some OAU students.
- Once you become a reciprocal borrower you can access all CDU Campus libraries
- Membership will not be given for a period less than three months
- The reciprocal borrower membership is provided free of charge
- Joining other University libraries
- All current CDU staff and students are eligible for membership with any of the participating universities.
- CDU students enrolled with Open Universities Australia (OUA) can use their CDU student card as their library card.
- If you incur fees with another University Library and do not pay for them, CDU Library will be asked to cover this debt. As a result we may put an encumberance on your student record and will charge a processing fee of $33.

- Copy of current enrolment form.
- Proof of residency in the state of the library at which you register.
- Staff are required to show a copy of letter of indemnity from your supervisor. This states that you are currently employed and the length of tenure.
- Membership privileges and access are at the discretion of the library at which you register. Some libraries charge a membership fee.
