Charles Darwin University in conjunction with Territory wide broadcaster Top FM have registered in the Australian Red Cross Blood Bank's Summer Heroes Blood Rush Challenge. The aim is to donate 250 litres of blood before 28 February 2005.
Staff at Charles Darwin University can make an appointment with the Blood Bank in Alice Springs or Darwin (telephone 13 14 85) individually and say that they are donating as part of the Charles Darwin University/TopFM entry. However we will also be arranging scheduled times and providing transport where possible for small groups of University staff," University Coordinator for the challenge, Kirsty Mawer, said.
The next scheduled group booking for the Casuarina Campus will be Thursday 9 December at 1.30pm. The vehicle will leave from Building 15.
More scheduled times will be made in the next few weeks including group times for the Alice Springs Campus and Palmerston Campus.
"A weekly tally will be available to check the Charles Darwin University/TopFM entry progress and see how many donations we need to win! At this stage we are looking for 532 donations," Ms Mawer said.
Anyone between 18-70 years, weighing at least 45kg and in general good health may be eligible to donate. If you are interested in participating in the challenge or if you would like more information, please contact Kirsty Mawer to arrange a time.
