Cross-Cultural Training

16 December 2004

Professional development training in Indigenous cross-cultural awareness is designed to improve the understanding of cultural differences and sensitivities of the university's diverse staff and student body. Staff in all areas of the university whether they are in administration, teaching, research or manual positions will, at some point be required to communicate and work with, members of the Northern Territory's Indigenous population.

The aim of the cultural awareness program is to create a workplace culture of inclusiveness where diversity is a strength in the workplace culture. Senior staff members of the School of Australian Indigenous Knowledge Systems will deliver the training to Heads of Schools and other designated line managers over the course of a one-day program. The training will improve the understanding of Indigenous worldviews and how these world views impact in the work environment.

It is essential that all Heads of Schools and other designated line managers attend the training. Staff Services will be making contact with you shortly to determine which possible dates will enable all invitees to attend.
