Charles Darwin University Media Lecturer Ronny Reinhard sees the student’s high achievement not only as a reflection of the senior secondary college and its educational practice, but of the Alice Springs community as a whole.
“The emerging talent on display from these young students inspires me with the confidence that Charles Darwin University has a firm foundation to build on,” Mr Reinhard said.
“The establishment of a NT Film Office here in Alice is the foundation to build a unique media industry in a unique environment. Here at Charles Darwin University we intend to be a key contributor to this future by providing quality media training.”
Prior to the screenings there will be a short presentation ceremony with students vying for Silver Gorillas for excellence in disciplines such as Best Editing, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography. A panel of judges consisting of members of the local film, television and media community will award Golden Gorillas for Best Film and Best Animation overall.
In 2005 Charles Darwin University will offer for the first time a Certificate 3 in Screen (Film and Animation). Interested students can contact Mr Reinhard on 8959 5431 or mobile 0439 871 786.
