A new staff web based staff services feature - StaffOnline, is now available.
StaffOnline includes electronic pay slips, online submission and approval of leave forms, online reports of leave balances and future leave balance calculations as well as the ability to update personal information including emergency contact details and addressing information. Staff will also be able to nominate for registered training courses and manage the disbursements of the their net pay into multiple bank accounts.
Staff that manage other staff will also be able to view information about their team members to assist them in managing their team.
The system will be enhanced throughout the first half of 2005 to include services such as approval delegation for managers and eventually on line recruitment, plus a range of other features.
StaffOnline is in response to recommendations coming from a review of people development and management practices conducted at the University earlier this year and will provide the following benefits:
- Widespread (internet based) access to functionality listed above
- Process efficiencies gained by online processing removing the time delays in movement and processing of paper based forms and removing the risk of data entry errors
- Continued process improvement as more functionality is added
The system is web based and accessible to all staff that have a Lotus Notes account. Staff will use the same username and password they currently use to access Internet from within the campus. The address of the system will be distributed in a staff wide email that will also provide links to a "Getting Started" guide and other reference material.
