Holiday program gives fun approach to accredited training in the basics of cattle mustering |
A 12-day adventure of canoeing, cattle mustering, horse riding and quad biking is sure to take the boredom out of the upcoming school holidays.
For the first time, Charles Darwin University is hosting a rural holiday program during the June/July school holidays for students aged 15 years and over.
Based at the University's Rural College in Katherine, the 12-day activity bonanza includes 10 days of nationally accredited training in basic cattle mustering, horse riding and animal care, quad bike and motorbike riding skills and learning the basics of motor mechanics.
On days off participants go canoeing down Katherine Gorge and spend time horse riding.
The program is fully supervised and accommodation for participants is provided at the NT Rural College.
The cost of the 12 days is $935 includes all meals and accommodation, transport to and from Darwin to Rural College, recreational activities and nationally accredited training.
There are limited places and registration and payment must be made by 21 June 2004.
