An eclectic range of performers feature in Serenade for Strings and Wind - the next concert from the Charles Darwin University Concert Series.“Showcasing the Charles Darwin Chamber Orchestra, university staff and students, leading local musicians and wind quintet, Quintessential, the concert includes favourites of the string serenade repertoire and wind music with a twist,” series coordinator, Rebecca Harris, said.

The real lord of the rings
In concert with one of our solar system’s great mysteries being revealed next Tuesday, Charles Darwin University astronomy tutor, Geoff Carr, is holding a free seminar to mark the occasion. Mr Carr will focus on the Cassini-Huygens space mission and its first historic fly-by of Saturn’s largest moon, Titan, which will occur the night after his presentation.

Launch of cybertourism puts study into practice
A new virtual reality based learning environment will be launched at Charles Darwin University’s Palmerston Campus on Friday. The Travel Gateway Practice Firm is a simulated business environment where Charles Darwin University business and tourism students ‘virtually’ sell travel packages to the Northern Territory and Borneo as well as Royal Brunei airfares.

Tertiary studies earth sciences cadetship launched
There’s a new incentive for Territory students interested in a career in earth sciences or geology, with the formation of a new cadetship program. Mines and Energy Minister, Kon Vatskalis, announced the creation of the new scholarship today at Charles Darwin University.
