Dr Claire Baxter, Executive Director Business Development, Charles Darwin University |
Two key appointments are making Charles Darwin University a more creative, interactive and accessible place for business seeking solutions.
Dr Claire Baxter this week begins her role as the University’s Executive Director for Business Development bringing with her new tools, knowledge and know-how in generating value and identifying fresh business opportunities for the University.
“As the University’s primary point of contact for business development, Dr Baxter will be working to open up and nurture potential commercial relationships which in turn benefit businesses, the University and the wider Northern Territory community,” Vice Chancellor Professor Helen Garnett said.
Dr Baxter comes to Darwin from the University of Sydney where she oversaw rapid growth in industry interaction and commercialisation with the value of contracts undertaken by the University increasing from under $10 million to more than $50 million a year and the number of spin-off companies rising from none to an average of six a year.
