The University is committed to the continuing education and professional development of staff. As part of this commitment CDU staff have access to lynda.com suite of courses.
Lynda.com aims to provide high quality online training that people actually want to learn. Lynda.com users tend to learn more, retain more, thus increase competencies, improve skills and achieve better learning outcomes.
All lynda.com courses are delivered by experts rather than narrators. Many trainers are nationally recognised authors, and lynda.com courses provide detailed biographical information about the expert providing the training.
Each of lynda.com's more than 2,700 courses are broken into chapters, and each chapter is broken into mini video tutorials that are only a few minutes long.
Lynda.com has a free app available for iPhone, iPad, and Android. Once the free app has been installed on your mobile devices you need to login for the first time as detailed below:

Getting things done is all about implementing solutions that facilitate successful collaboration. Microsoft Planner enables groups to structure teamwork more easily and boost productivity. This course offers a quick overview of how to get things done in Planner, from creating plans and setting due dates to updating projects and sharing files with team members.
This course shows you how to get started with Microsoft Planner. It takes you through basic administration, including team member setup and plan creation. After establishing teams and plans, you will learn how to assign tasks to team members and how to use the features that help keep the plan organised, including labels, checklists, and descriptions.
Since collaboration is essential, it will demonstrate how both you and the team can use comments to communicate progress with co-workers, and how to keep plans on schedule through monitoring.
