About lynda.com

Lynda.com aims to provide high quality online training that people actually want to learn. Lynda.com users tend to learn more, retain more, thus increase competencies, improve skills and achieve better learning outcomes.

Lynda.com is a Project Management Institute (PMI) Registered Education Provider, and some of the courses of Lynda.com qualify for Professional Development Units (PDUs). PMI is the leading professional membership association for the project management profession.

Each of lynda.com's more than 2,700 courses are broken into chapters, and each chapter is broken into mini video tutorials that are only a few minutes long.

Initial set-up for devices other than CDU desktop or laptop

Lynda.com has a free app available for iPhone, iPad, and Android. Once the free app has been installed on your mobile devices you need to login for the first time as detailed below:

  • Select your preferred web browser and type in lynda.com in the address bar
  • Click on the 'log in' (top right of screen)
  • At the 'log in through your organisation or school' enter: www.cdu.edu.au
  • Click on the 'go' button
  • At the 'CDU Federation Login' screen, enter your CDU username and password
  • Click on 'continue' - this will take you back to lynda.com

Once logged in you can access the courses or download them to your device for viewing at another time or offline.

Note: If you allow 30 days to elapse without use you will have to repeat the initial set-up again for each device.

For CDU desktop or laptop login

Click on the lynda.com button below the graphic on the top of this page. This will take you to the authorisation page (federated login). Access requires your CDU user name and password. Once logged in you can access the courses of your choice on offer.

Study time

Staff are reminded that approval for study during working hours is to be negotiated with your relevant Manager/Supervisor. Lynda.com can be accessed externally to allow you to to continue with your studies in your own time.

This course covers creating formulas, managing named ranges and tables, importing, exporting, validating data, and more.
