How to Apply

Before submitting your application

Please read essential information for applicants before submitting your application to ensure you understand Charles Darwin University's particular requirements for applications.

How to submit an application online

  1. Select the relevant vacancy category: General Staff, Senior Executive, Internal, Employment Register Research Active or Teaching Focused Academic
  2. Select the position title you wish to apply for
  3. Click the 'Position Profile' link to review or download the position information
  4. Click the 'Apply Now' button
  5. Complete the online application form

Use the 'Browse' button to locate and attach the following documents:

  • cover letter
  • resume / Curriculum Vitae
  • statement addressing the selection criteria
  • additional documents you wish to include

Once completed click the “Submit your Application Now” button to submit your application.

Application process for Charles Darwin University Employees

If you are currently employed in a fixed-term or continuing position at CDU, you can save time by applying through Staff Online.

  1. Log onto Staff Online and click on the menu item 'Current Vacancies'
  2. Select the position title of the vacancy you wish to apply for.
  3. When you click 'Apply Now' your personal details will automatically upload onto the application form.

Follow the same process outlined in the How to submit your application online instruction at the top of the page.

Submitting an expression of interest for temporary or casual employment opportunities

The Employment Register is a means whereby applicants can submit an EOI for consideration for temporary or casual employment opportunities at the University.

As there are no position profiles available for the employment register there is no need to submit a statement addressing selection criteria. You only need to attach an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae to the completed online form.

  1. Select the Employment Register Vacancies button
  2. Select the Employment Register position title
  3. Click the 'Apply Now' button
  4. Complete the online registration form

You will be required to provide details of your qualifications, relevant attributes and skill-set, areas of specific experience  and availability for work. Follow the process outlined in How to submit your application online.

Unable to submit your application online?

If you are unable to submit your application online you can hand deliver or post a hard copy of your cover letter, resume /CV and statement addressing the selection criteria. Please don't include any original copies of supporting documentation.
