Staff professional development assistance

A number of options are available for staff to undertake professional development activities and receive financial assistance. All staff must meet the eligibility criteria in the Staff Professional Development Process and Guidelines

Assistance schemes:

Staff study reimbursement scheme (replaces HECS/AEPS application)

For all Higher Education (HE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) study undertaken.

Staff are encouraged to undertake courses which align to their position and Performance Development Review Plan and are Commonwealth Government Supported (CGS). See list of CGS courses for HE and VET.

Forms:

Please note that the application form only needs to be completed at the commencement of the proposed study. The claim for payment form is to be completed at the end of each semester. However, you will be required to submit at the beginning of each semester your 'Enrolment and Fees Advice'.

Study time release

For when a staff member requires study time to attend lectures, tutorials or residential schools during working hours. Please note that this form must be completed each semester.

Staff Professional Development Leave (SPDL)

Staff members may request to take leave to undertake study for a specified perod of time. In order to do so the following forms must be submitted.

Professional development activities

All other professional development activities such as workshops and seminars. It is not required for compulsory CDU courses.

International conferences

For all international conferences staff members are planning to attend.
