PMD introduces online timesheets

People Management and Development has recently introduced online timesheets through StaffOnline.

This new function is another step towards moving current payroll processes to an electronic/online format which will enhance current practices for all staff.

With consultation, PMD has decided that bulk timesheet processing best suits our current processes and circumstances.

Bulk timesheet processing allows a number of casual timesheets to be quickly entered in a batch by local area administrative staff. Staff are able to quickly enter timesheets for the casual staff in their area. Casual employees will still complete paper timesheets which must be approved by their direct supervisor. Administrative staff will then enter the timesheets to be approved by supervisors/managers as per the current approval process.

The major benefit of moving to online timesheets includes a much improved processing time which leads to casual staff being paid faster. Timesheets can be entered up to the day before the payroll is run and they will be included in that pay run.

As a result, Autopay casual contracts will no longer be offered by CDU and as from Thursday 29 March PMD will not process any casual contracts marked as Autopay. Contracts received after this date marked as ‘Autopay’ will be converted to Timesheet and the salaries officer will contact you to advise of this change.

PMD staff will roll-out online timesheets over the next four to eight weeks with training in each area/school/faculty at your convenience. You will be contacted in advance and asked to supply convenient dates for training.

For further information please email staffonline@cdu.edu.au.
