Records and Information Management
Records and Archives staff are responsible for the efficient and effective control over and access to the university's records. It is our responsibility to Preserve the Corporate Memory of the University by providing a records management program that makes effective use of technology and facilitates the transaction, monitoring and auditing of the university's official business.
The electronic records management system that Charles Darwin University has in place, Tower Records Information Management (TRIM), manages paper based records but can be upgraded to manage electronic documents. Installed in the TRIM system is the NT Government Functional Thesaurus: Terms for classifying and titling records, which is a Business Classification System, and is strongly advocated in the Records Management Standards.
