Current Projects

An ongoing study is being conducted to investigate the capability of organisations to acquire and manage the knowledge required to successfully adopt innovative information and communication technologies (ICT). Working together with researchers at RMIT Andrew is assisting in the development of models and strategies that will help organisations use knowledge management to achieve a learning organisation that supports ICT innovation.

An action research technique – soft systems methodology (SSM) - is being applied to identify knowledge activities, stimulate debate, and capture the ‘vision for the future’ of participants. This is used to better understand the capability of organisations to successfully adopt innovative ICT, and helps to identify context and cultural issues, stakeholders and actors, key transformations, and patterns in knowledge activities. The study has a number of expected outcomes, including issues analysis that incorporates skills and capability audits, identification of critical enablers, and development of ICT knowledge acquisition plans.
