Current Projects

  • An ongoing study of the reform of the Northern Territory Correctional Services – supported financially by the Correctional Services.
  • Drafted (with A Massey) a chapter on “Global Governance: Prospects and Challenges” as part of a study of the human factor in global governance. This chapter will be included in a book to be published in 2008-09 by the International Institute of Administrative Sciences.

  • Preparing (with R Wettenhall) a panel on public ownership for the annual conference of the International Research Society for Public Management to be held in Brisbane in March 2008. We will guest edit a selection of the papers from this panel for a “Symposium on Ownership in the Public Sphere” to be published in the International Journal of Public Policy in 2008-09. An edited version of our panel paper – “Ownership in the Public Sphere: The Significance of Community and Organisational Form” – will introduce the symposium.

  • Beginning to write (with B Guy Peters) a book on Organising Public Action.

  • Preparing to guest edit a “Symposium on Climate Change, Governance and Environmental Services” to be published in Public Administration and Development in 2008. My article – “Climate Change and Governance: Contributory, Warranted and Enlightened?” – will introduce the symposium.
