Research interests

Bruce is Director of the CGIAR and ESSP programme on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) (www.ccafs.cgiar.org) in Copenhagen, Denmark. This programme taps into the complementary strengths of the CGIAR system and ESSP, and their respective partners, to address the most pressing and complex challenge to food security in the 21st century.

The collaboration brings together some of the world's best researchers in agricultural science, development research, climate science and Earth System science.

He serves on several editorial boards, and is a scientific committee member of PECS, the ICSU Programme on Ecosystem Change and Society. This endeavour integrates social and natural science and aims to provide the understanding for wise stewardship of landscapes and seascapes.
