Research interests

  • Bamboo ecology and management, including the evolutionary ecology and biology of gregarious flowering and die-off
  • Plant and bird ecology, life histories and conservation biology, particularly of nectarivores and granivores
  • Biogeography and landscape ecology, including field methods for wildlife survey and monitoring at landscape scales
  • Fire ecology in the tropical savannas
