Research interests

Ian’s research has focused on tropical riverine ecology, specialising in assessment and monitoring of riparian and stream health across northern Australia. He is currently part of a new research team trialling the Framework for the Assessment of River and Wetland Health.

Current projects

  • TRaCK Project 5.1: Framework for the Assessment of River and Wetland Health (FARWH)

Recently completed projects

  • Ian was previously a Research Associate on two TRaCK projects:
    • TRaCK Project 5.1: Bottom-up and top-down control of riverine food webs
    • TRaCK Project 5.5: Flow-ecology relationships for biodiversity and ecosystem processes
  • Riparian Health project for the Tropical Savannas CRC: Development of the Tropical Rapid Appraisal of Riparian Condition
