Staff complaints and grievances
Support is available to staff who wish to obtain assistance in lodging a grievance or seek conciliation in accordance with university processes. Fiona Roche, the Acting Director of Support & Equity Services, is available to assist staff in these processes.
Many complaints can be solved through an informal process of mediation and/or conciliation. The informal process seeks, and often results in, a positive outcome for the parties concerned.
The University has trained a group of contact officers/conciliators who may be called upon to undertake the informal process. The University encourages all staff who have a complaint to utilise the informal process where possible to resolve issues.
If you believe that you are being unfairly treated, experiencing difficulties, having problems with a fellow staff member or student or you are concerned about related matters, contact Support & Equity Services to clarify your rights, responsibilities and options. You will always be listened to.
