Staff grievances

Support is available to staff who wish to obtain assistance in lodging a grievance or seek conciliation in accordance with university processes. Elizabeth Macdonald, the Director, Support and Equity Services is available to assist staff in these processes.

Many complaints can be solved through an informal process of mediation and/or conciliation. The informal process seeks, and often results in, a positive outcome for the parties concerned.

The University has trained a group of contact officers/conciliators who may be called upon to undertake the informal process. The University encourages all staff who have a complaint to utilise the informal process where possible to resolve issues.

If you believe that you are being unfairly treated, experiencing difficulties, having problems with a fellow staff member or student or you are concerned about related matters, contact Support and Equity Services to clarify your rights, responsibilities and options. You will always be listened to.
