Linking bush schools to community-based livelihoods
Research leader: Josie Douglas
Partner: Desert knowledge CRC
By improving understanding of livelihood opportunities provided to community members by Aboriginal bush schools in Central Australia, this research hopes to identify the benefits of these school-related livelihoods and how they can be better supported. In partnership with Desert Knowledge CRC, Indigenous Research Fellow Josie Douglas is studying the language and culture programs of bush schools, as well as external projects tied to bush school education programs that focus on natural and cultural resource management (NCRM).
