International House Darwin Scholarship

Donor: CDU - International House Darwin

Maximum value: $1,000

Purpose:

To provide financial support to continuing students who have demonstrated academic and community excellence as a resident of International House Darwin

Payment: $500 per semester

Duration: Two (2) semesters

Number of Scholarships available: Ten (10)

Eligibility criteria:
  • Must be enrolled in a Higher Education undergraduate course  - see eligible courses
  • Must be enrolled fulltime for the duration of the scholarship
  • Must be a current resident at International House Darwin (and remain a resident for the duration of this scholarship)
  • Must have completed at least two semesters (excluding summer semester and semester 3) while in residence at International House Darwin

How to apply (includes Selection Criteria)

You can apply for all scholarships where you meet the eligibility criteria. You may be awarded a maximum of two scholarships. Each scholarship needs a separate online application.

Selection criteria

Your online application will require you to complete a written statement which will include addressing each of the following selection criteria.  Answers to these criteria help the scholarship assessment panel choose the successful recipient.

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrate an appropriate academic record (selection will be based on academic merit and your responses to the below criteria)
  • Demonstrate active and relevant community involvement through membership or participation in organisations, teams or groups
  • Demonstrate leadership in the community
  • Provide examples of your consideration of others in residence

Supporting documents

You can upload documents to support your application (in one file not exceeding 2MB).

Past and present CDU students do not need to upload academic transcripts. All other applicants are strongly advised to submit proof of previous academic performance (from high school or other universities) to support your application.

After submitting your application

You will immediately receive an automatic reply acknowledging receipt of your application. Within 2-3 days you will receive a confirmation email from the scholarships office. If you are required to submit further documentation you will be advised in this email.

Assessment of applications

Your application will be assessed by a panel. If your application includes a work placement you may be required to attend an interview with the workplace employer.

Assessments are usually completed by the end of March for semester 1 and the end of August for semester 2.

Notification to applicants

All applicants will receive email notification regarding the success of their application.
