What is SATAC?

What is the difference between applying and enrolling?

Applying - the process of gaining a place of study in a course of higher education (degree courses). For all Charles Darwin University undergraduate and postgraduate courses by coursework, domestic students must apply through SATAC, and international students must contact the International Office.

Enrolling - the process of officially notifying the University of the units which you wish to study in a semester. For new students enrolment can only occur once your application is successful and you have received an offer of a place to study at Charles Darwin University.

How do I pay the SATAC processing fee if I do not have a credit card?

Send in a cheque or money order to SATAC.

How do I change my course preference on my application?

Once you have lodged your application with SATAC you can change your preference (first choice of the course you want to study) on SATAC's Services for current applicants.

I am a mature age student who did not complete year 12. How can I apply for admission to an undergraduate course?

For those who did not complete year 12 studies and have not completed any other tertiary studies, there are several ways into higher education courses. Visit the CDU's higher education webpage for more information.

If I intend to use the Tertiary Enabling Program (TEP) as the basis of my admission, how many units do I need to complete?

To meet the minimum entry requirements you will need to successfully complete 40 credit points from TEP. Find out more about the Tertiary Enabling Program.

How do I get bonus points for my TER?

Charles Darwin University offers bonus points to students who have completed studies in a high school in the Northern Territory or a selected rural area.
