What is credit transfer?

Recognition of academic credits gained through formal study at Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), professional bodies or enterprises and universities.

In Vocational Education and Training (VET), Charles Darwin University, as a RTO, recognises the Australian Quality Framework qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by any other Australian RTOs and no further assessment is required.

What are CDU's general credit transfer rules?

Credit transfer and pathways

The following guaranteed credit transfer arrangements are available to students commencing a bachelor degree at Charles Darwin University from semester 2, 2005. Students who have completed their VET or higher education qualifications at CDU are not required to complete an Application for Exemption form or submit academic records as these will be assessed and actioned internally at the time of first enrolment. Only students from other institutions are required to provide certified copies of their academic records and complete a HE113 Application for Exemption with their enrolment form.

Is credit transfer automatic and how do I apply for credit transfer?

Credit transfer is not automatic. You need to complete an HE113 Application for Exemption. This process is not available on ‘My Student Info’.

Your completed form, together with attached documentary evidence to support your application, should be submitted directly to the Information Centre either in person or by mail before the relevant census date. Requests without documentary evidence will not be processed.
