When will results become available?
The University publishes the dates for the release of final grades.
Can I access my results online?
Yes, you can view your results online unless you owe student fees.
Semester has started for my HE unit and I cannot access my results from the VET course I completed last year. Why is that?
As soon as a semester or term commences, fees are due. You need to pay any outstanding fees before you can access your results online. If you believe you do not have any outstanding fees contact the Information Centre.
I have received my results, what do the grades mean?
Each grade has a meaning. This is all explained in the University's Assessment Rules (.pdf, 72KB).
Why has my 'Incomplete' grade from a previous semester been changed to a 'Fail' grade?
The student management system will convert any 'Incomplete' grades that have been on the system after six months, to a 'Fail' grade in line with the University's Assessment Rules (.pdf, 72KB). These grades can remain as 'Incomplete' only if the student has been granted an extension by the faculty. If you believe the grade is incorrect, and should be changed, you should contact the lecturer or course coordinator in the first instance to resolve your concern.
Why does it take time to receive the results of my exams?
After an exam is completed, it must be marked and the results need to be endorsed and approved by the relevant faculty. The faculty then advises Student Services to release results to students. View the University's grade release dates.
I have received my results or checked them online and some units have a dash (-) or an Incomplete (I) grade listed. What does this mean?
Results for students are provided by lecturers in faculties. An NA means that a unit has either not been assessed or has not been provided for entry at the necessary time.
An AC grade indicates that the student has received a written extension by the dean of the relevant faculty for a period of up to three months from the end of the semester (teaching period) to submit outstanding assessment items toward the final grade for the unit.
You should contact your lecturer, relevant faculty or the Information Centre if you have any queries about your results.
What does a 'SPEC' grade stand for?
This grade is issued if you have applied in writing to the Information Centre, and have been granted a Special Examination at a date other than listed on the final examination timetable. Students who receive a 'SPEC' grade are informed by the examinations area of the date and time, when their exam will be held. If you fail to attend a special exam that has been organised for you, your final grade in the unit will be recorded as a FAIL.
