How do I enrol?

If you have applied to enter an undergraduate degree and have been offered a place, you must complete an enrolment form and deliver to the Information Centre by mail or in person (for VET enrolments, visit CDU's Vocational Education and Training website).

Enrolment information, sent to you with your Letter of Offer, will include:

To enrol you must return the 2008 Enrolment from and the relevant Commonwealth support and HECS-HELP form.

An offer made but not taken up will lapse at the end of each year and you will have to re-apply.

Tertiary Enabling Program

The Tertiary Enabling Program gives students the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge they will need for successful achievements in tertiary studies. It is suitable for students who wish to enrol in study at a diploma or degree level but who have not achieved an adequate Tertiary Entrance Rank and/or lack the confidence to achieve academically. Successful completion of the program will allow students to meet the minimum entry requirements for most Charles Darwin University VET diplomas and higher education bachelors degrees.

For further information contact 08 8946 7766.

How do I qualify as a full-time student?

To qualify as a full-time student, you must be studying at least 75 per cent of a full-time load (considered to be 80 credit points per year, or 40 credit points per semester). Therefore, you must be studying three 10 credit point units per semester. If not, you will be considered a part-time student.

What happens then?

The university will process your enrolment and send you a printed Enrolment and Fees Advice letter, which you must keep as this will act as an invoice for any fees you have owing. You will also receive a copy of your Commonwealth Support HECS-HELP form.

External students

You should submit your enrolment by the advised dates to ensure you receive your study materials in time (contact Teaching and Learning Development if you have not received them within a week).

If you have not received your study materials by the census date you must contact the Information Centre straight away to arrange a formal withdrawal.

Cross-institutional enrolments

If you are studying at another university, but wish to study units at Charles Darwin University, you must enrol with Charles Darwin University and submit a Request for Commonwealth Support and HECS-HELP form with your enrolment. You will pay late fees to the host university at their rate.

To enrol at Charles Darwin University you will need:

If you are a Charles Darwin University student and you want to be a cross institutional student somewhere else, you must get permission from your course coordinator or dean.
