Entry requirements

Study at Charles Darwin UniversityCharles Darwin University aims to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have access to all the skills they need to achieve their aspirations.

If you have the desire to study we will help you find a course that suits your qualifications and ambitions, and support you through the learning process.

What do I need to start studying?

Vocational education and training (VET)

As a rule, VET courses do not require a Tertiary Entrance Rank for admission but they do assume basic numeracy and literacy. If you need help improving numeracy or literacy, LearnLink runs courses that can help.

Higher education

If you want to enrol in an undergraduate degree you must have a TER of 60 or over (some courses have higher entry requirements). However, if you do not have the appropriate TER, is to enrol in a Tertiary Enabling Program. Contact a member of the Indigenous academic support unit for information and assistance.

Indigenous Alternative Entry Program

Are you an Indigenous student that does not have the entry requirements for an undergraduate program? You can still apply through SATAC and be considered via the guaranteed entry provision, which provides alternative admission assessments for Indigenous students. The University will contact you and organise an alternative assessment. Find out more about the Indigenous Alternative Entry Program.
