Charles Darwin University's Tertiary Enabling Program (TEP) gives you the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge you need to succeed at university. When you have competed the program, you will meet the minimum requirements for most CDU undergraduate degrees.
The program is a pathway into university for people who did not complete Year 12, have not studied for a while and lack the confidence to achieve academically, or did not achieve an adequate Tertiary Education Rank (TER). TEP is your key to CDU.
Pathway to Higher Education
CDU recently introduced a two-tiered approach to TEP, to accommodate the different competencies of our students.
The first stage is to complete the diagnostic task, which will establish the tier best suited to you.
When you have successfully completed the TEP diagnostic task you will proceed to TEP 1: Orientation to Tertiary Study or directly to TEP 2: Preparation for Tertiary Study.
TEP diagnostic task
The TEP diagnostic task consists of two multiple-choice tests in English and Maths.
The test is completed online and you are given 30 minutes to complete each test.
Students who speak English as a second language, or who identify as having a disability, may be given a longer time frame to complete the task.
TEP course structure
TEP1 - Orientation to Tertiary Study
TEP 1 - Orientation to Tertiary Study is a four unit program, which takes one semester if undertaken full time.
Successful completion of this stage prepares students for the second stage, TEP 2.
TEP2 - Preparation for Tertiary Study
TEP 2 - Preparation for Tertiary Study is a four unit program, which takes
one semester if undertaken full-time.
It consists of three three core units and one elective. Successful completion of TEP 2 prepares students to undertake tertiary study at CDU.

- You can study TEP full-time or part-time
