Call for papers

The organising committee is calling for papers for the Democratic Governance in Timor Leste: Reconciling the Local and the National conference to be held on 7 and 8 February, 2008.

The conference is divided into four panels, each with its particular theme. Participants are invited to submit papers presenting original research relating to any of the four panels’ themes. Please check the conference program for panel descriptions. Early career researchers and postgraduate students are particularly welcome.

Each panel is expected to comprise five presenters, including the keynote speaker. It is intended that selected papers from the conference will be published as a book. Presenters should be prepared to supply completed papers for consideration by mid-April, 2008.

Abstracts of not more than 200 words should be submitted electronically to steven.farram@cdu.edu.au.

In your abstract please indicate the following:

The conference will be held at Charles Darwin University’s Casuarina campus in Darwin. Usual facilities such as power-point and overhead projectors will be available.
