About TLDG

Leader - Professor Kym Fraser

Hi. My name is Kym and I am the leader of the Teaching and Learning Development Group (TLDG). TLDG contributes to the achievement of the University's strategic teaching goals, advocates and supports the flexible provision of learning and teaching, facilitates learning and teaching initiatives of Faculties and Schools, and provides a non-accredited, professional teaching development program. TLDG produces multimedia and audio-visual materials and manages the production of distance education student resources including the Learnline learning environment.

My disciplinary field is education development (the professional development of teaching) and I have worked in this field in the USA, Hong Kong, UK and Australia. I am a past editor of the Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia Green and Gold Guides, and was a member of the UK Assessment Panel for Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Research Profile

My colleagues and I at TLDG are engaged in a research project about the role of education developers/designers in the periodic renewal of degree programmes. I am also currently writing a book that is intended to support Health Care Professionals as they undertake continuing professional development (CPD) courses. The working title of the book is “Studying for continuing professional development: a practical guide for health care professionals” and it has been accepted for publication by Routledge.
