TLDG provides support for VET staff in applying for a range of teaching awards and grants that recognise and facilitate excellence in teaching practice.

National VET Teaching Awards
- NT DEET Training Awards – The NT Department of Employment, Education and Training presents annual awards that recognise training excellence and achievements in the vocational education and training (VET) sector. There are six organisational categories, including VET Teacher/Trainer of the Year.
- Institute for Trade Skills Excellence Trade Teacher of the Year Awards – The Institute for Trade Skills Excellence rewards excellence in trade skills teaching by offering 18 awards in eight categories: automotive, building and construction, electrical, hospitality and personal services, manufacturing, metals and engineering, mineral resources and rural and farming. From the 18 award winners, Industry Trade Teachers of the Year and a National Trade Teacher of the Year are selected.
National VET Grants
- Australian Flexible Learning Framework – The Australian Flexible Learning Framework provides a range of funding opportunities aimed at responding to the challenges of flexible learning, and in particular e-learning.
- Reframing the Future – Reframing the Future provides matched funding each year for approximately 200 VET staff development and change management projects.
