Indigenous Research, Education and Support
Charles Darwin University focuses on developing strategies for a university-wide approach to Indigenous development.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous Learning will actively contribute to the considerations of how to develop better access and pathways for Indigenous people and work with the executive as the University develops the knowledge and skills to embrace Indigenous issues as an integral part of our activities.
An executive think tank of Indigenous leaders will help develop Indigenous research and education strategies at Charles Darwin University.
The executive think tank includes:
- Professor Mick Dodson, Professor of Indigenous Studies at the Australian National University
- Professor Marcia Langton, Professor of Australian Indigenous Studies at the University of Melbourne
- Mr Norman Fry, Northern Land Council
- Mr David Ross, Central Land Council
The University will also be drawing on the expertise of members of senior university staff, existing advisory boards, visiting committees and other senior members of the Indigenous community, through workshops focused on improving outcomes in specific areas - for example activities in the development of health professionals.
