VET MATTERS

Dear Colleagues,

Christine RobertsonI am delighted to introduce VET Matters – the new e-newsletter for the CDU VET Faculty.

VET at CDU plays a key role in realising the goals and aspirations of the University Strategy, Connect Discover Grow 2015 – 2025.

Since the launch of our VET Plan 2017 – 2019 in January this year we have strengthened our focus across four priority areas – innovation in student learning, skills development for indigenous Australians, working closely with industry, strengthening and extending the capability of our VET lecturers, managers, support staff and leaders.

The articles in this first edition of VET Matters will bring you up to date with exciting new projects and initiatives across our VET schools and teams, provide links to relevant VET publications and articles of interest, introduce new colleagues and say farewell and thank you to members of our team who have moved on to new opportunities.

We also congratulate all of our 2017 NT Training Award finalists – a tribute to the professionalism, quality and commitment of our CDU VET staff and students. Award winners will be announced at the NT Awards Gala Presentation Dinner on 23 September.

Best wishes for a successful and productive second semester. I look forward to hearing your feedback and your contributions to future editions of VET Matters.

Christine Robertson
