Who is Charles Webb?
Charles Webb arrived in Darwin in 1987 to take up a position at the newly formed University College of the Northern Territory (UCNT). He was one of 12 inaugural science staff and remembers the optimism and camaraderie of those early days.
As the University grew he moved from teaching into management, becoming Pro Vice-Chancellor and then Deputy and Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
He helped 'steer the NTU ship' in 2002 when he was Acting Vice-Chancellor, between the period when Ron McKay retired due to illness until Prof Ken McKinnon took over the reins.
Charles Webb has worked with seven Vice-Chancellors and helped the University grow from 400 students in 1987 to 26,000 students today. His recent publication on the history of CDU is part of the University’s celebration of 25 years of university education in the NT in 2014
