Library archive

The CDU Library holds an archive of images from the University’s history dating back to the days of the Darwin Community College. The Library’s collection of print images is progressively being digitised so that it can be made generally accessible on the CDU website. Digital images currently available can be viewed at Library archive.

25th Anniversary Dinner

The 25th Anniversary of university education in the Northern Territory was celebrated with a gala dinner at the Darwin Convention Centre on 22 March 2014. Over 800 people from CDU and the community attended the event , which included ensemble performances from the Darwin Symphony Orchestra, also celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2014.

CDU historic plaques

As part of the 25th Anniversary celebrations, Dr Steven Farram has undertaken a project to record the historic plaques that mark the openings of buildings on all of CDU’s campuses. Images of these plaques can be viewed at CDU historic plaques.
The plaques at Casuarina campus and their history have been documented in a book by Dr Farram – ‘A History Written In Metal: Commemorative Plaques at Charles Darwin University’s Casuarina Campus, 1972-2013’, to be published by the Historical Society of the Northern Territory (HSNT) in May 2014.
