Janelle Marrington

Lecturer, Tertiary Enabling Program

I joined CDU in June 2013 in the role of Humanities Lecturer.  I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to teach a diverse range of subjects in the Tertiary Enabling Program; Cultural Intelligence and Capability from the Common Units and also assist ALLSP from time to time with individual consultations and classes.

Over a 12 year period and immediately before CDU, I worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in the Torres Strait, teaching in all subjects of the Bachelor of Education (Primary), the Diploma of Education and Certificate III and IV in Education. Previous to that I have almost 20 years’ experience teaching in High Schools in the ACT.

Throughout all these years I have actively engaged in community work including 10 years as a Lieutenant in the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service; three years as Commander of a Navy Cadet unit and the last few years as friend for Refugees.
