Susi Bertei

Lecturer, Common Units

Susi started her working life as a professional engineer in the explosives industry in Melbourne. She has always had a strong interest in teaching as well, and after her children reached school age, cemented this interest with a secondary teaching qualification which focussed on delivery of mathematics and music. She taught at various Darwin schools for a number of years before taking the opportunity to join the teaching team in the School of Engineering and IT at Charles Darwin University in 2012.

Since then, Susi has been involved in the delivery and development of many units within the engineering program, as well as units within the schools of Science and Academic Literacy and Learning. Recently Susi has had much input into the unit CUC106 Design and Innovation – Communicating Technology, and is very excited to be joining the Tertiary Enabling Program team in the maths area in 2016.

Although tertiary education is now Susi’s main area, she also maintains an active interest in school education and teaches music and orienteering programs as required through primary, middle and senior schools.
