How to apply


All enquiries relating to the Australian Centre for Indigenous Knowledges and Education courses and entry requirements are referred to the CDU Student Info Shop on Casuarina campus; alternatively we welcome telephone to 1800 061 963 or email study@acike.edu.au


If you are eligible to apply for a course delivered at the Batchelor Institute campuses or Desert Peoples' in Alice Springs, you do not have to pay the SATAC application fee. You should not pay any fees at the time of submitting your application.

Applications for admission to ACIKE higher education undergraduate and postgraduate by coursework courses are received and processed by the South Australian Tertiary Admission Centre (SATAC).

Minimum admission requirement for Undergraduate courses

Successful application for an Undergraduate course is met by:

  • Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education (or equivalent) and an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 60 or higher, or
  • Successful completion of a VET or TAFE award of Certificate IV or higher, or
  • Attainment of a STAT score of 145 or greater, or
  • Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and / or employment experience (see special entry section), or
  • Successful completion of at least 0.5yr of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma, or
  • Successful completion of 40 credit points in the Preparation for Tertiary Study Program (TEP2), Preparation for Tertiary Success Program (PTS2) or other recognised bridging or tertiary preparation course.

In addition to the minimum admission requirements, some courses take other criteria into consideration such as registration as an Aboriginal Health Worker; for Health courses.

Minimum admission requirement for Postgraduate courses

Admission requirements for postgraduate courses are detailed in the course descriptions.

Many of ACIKE’s postgraduate courses have full-fee places or Commonwealth supported places. Separate SATAC codes are allocated to each fee option.
