The School of Australian Indigenous Knowledge Systems offers a wide range of courses in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, Indigenous governance and natural and cultural resource management.
Our objective is to share key elements of Indigenous knowledge within the guidelines of Indigenous protocols both nationally and globally to ensure and safeguard the advancement, transmission and preservation of Indigenous knowledge systems.
Our aspiration is to be a national and international focal point for research and consultancy. We forge partnerships with Indigenous communities and governments and encourage and support you to study and undertake research in Indigenous issues of importance. These include governance and capacity building, natural and cultural resource management, protection of Indigenous knowledge systems, Yolngu languages and culture and cultural heritage management.
