Good Shepherd Lutheran College
Secondary students' drypoint workshop at CDU Print Studio with Printmaking Lecturer Mats Undén. Good Shepherd Lutheran College, Monday February 29, 2016.
In this one-day workshop the students began with a guided visit to the exhibition priNT@CDU – printmaker’s perspective at the CDU Art Gallery. The exhibition features prints from the CDU Art Collection and explores the diverse printmaking techniques used by artists and printmakers in the creation of limited edition prints such as lithography, etching, drypoint, screenprinting, relief and typeset printing.
Students then created and printed their own drypoint print. The image is drawn with a sharp needle into the surface of the polypropylene plate, and then inked up with artist inks. After all excess ink has been wiped off with tarlatan, the plate is printed onto paper using the printing press.
