ADMW3356 - USI Exemptions

Overview

This page is used to record an individual exemption for a student who is eligible for a USI exemption.
There are three exemption types that may apply for a student:

• For international students studying outside of Australia, an exemption code of INTOFF will be written to the PERSON_USI table for the student and a lamp displays informing the user that an INTOFF exemption will be applied. Saving the record will apply the exemption.
• For students studying Courses which are one day or less in duration and who are unable to supply a USI prior to completion of the Course, an exemption code of SHORT will be written to the PERSON_USI table for the student and a lamp displays informing the user that a SHORT exemption will be applied. Saving the record will apply the exemption.
• For students who have a genuine personal objection to being assigned a student identifier, the administrator will check that the student has lodged a personal exemption and received an exemption code and if so they record the special exemption code provided by the student. Upon saving, the special exemption code will be written to the PERSON_USI table. If the student hasn’t lodged for a personal exemption, a lamp will be displayed saying that no applicable exemptions were recorded for the student.

To record an exemption for an international student studying overseas

1. Go to ADMF3000 or ENRF3000.
2. Query for the student and click on the USI Navigation button.
3. In ADMW3350 click on the USI Exemption button.
4. Select the 'International Student studying outside Australia' radio button.
5. Click on the Save button and you will return to ADMW3350.
   
6. The value recorded for PERSON_USI.PERSON_USI will be INTOFF when this option is selected.

To record an exemption for a student studying a short course

1. Go to ADMF3000 or ENRF3000.
2. Query for the student and click on the USI Navigation button.
3. In ADMW3350 click on the USI Exemption button.
4. Select the Student Studying Short Course Exemption radio button.
5. Click on the Save button and you will return to ADMW3350.
   The value recorded for PERSON_USI.PERSON_USI will be 'INTOFF' when this option is selected.

To record an exemption for a student with a personal objection

1. Go to ADMF3000 or ENRF3000.
2. Query for the student and click on the USI Navigation button.
3. In ADMW3350 click on the USI Exemption button.
4. Select the Personal Objection Exemption' radio button.
5. Select the 'Yes' radio button to indicate the student has lodged a personal objection to being assigned a USI.
   (If the 'No' is selected, a lamp displays in ADMW3356 to say that no applicable exemption has been applied to the student).
6. Record the Exemption Code.
7. Click on the Save button and you will return to ADMW3350.

ADMW3356 is invoked by clicking on the USI Exemption button in ADMW3350.

Clicking on the Save or Cancel button In ADMW3356 returns the user to ADMW3350.

• 'No Applicable Exemptions apply for this student' - displays when the ‘No’ radio button is selected for 'Has the student lodged a personal objection to being assigned a USI?'
