CDU Lecturer takes home Australian Society of Microbiology award from the Australian Society of Microbiology

Senior Lecturer at the CDU- Menizes Medical Program, Padraig Strappe has been awarded an Teacher’s Travel Award from the Australian Society for Microbiology (ASM).
 

The award recognises Mr Strappe’s contributions to educating the next generation and his efforts to bridge gaps between complex research and public understanding.
 

Mr Strappe will use the award to travel to Melbourne to attend the ASM national meeting, EduCon. 
 

“I am delighted to be awarded a teachers travel award to attend the annual meeting of the Australian Society for Microbiology in Melbourne,” Mr Strappe said.
 

“It is a great opportunity to connect with the research and education community.” 
 

“I will be presenting our work from the CDU team on the use of AI to develop virtual clinical scenarios, allowing students to enhance their understanding of infectious diseases.” 
 

The event will bring together educators and leaders in Microbiology and related sciences for scholarly presentations, networking and meaningful discussions on contemporary teaching and industry-focused topics.
