Kim Hawkins, Executive Director VET Education Innovation

Ms Kim Hawkins has been appointed to the role of Executive Director, VET Education Innovation in the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Vocational Education and Training. 

Kim joined CDU in May 2016 as Head of School Community and Children’s Services and shortly after took over responsibility for the VET Adult Literacy and Numeracy and English Language Program Teams. Prior to this she worked as a member of the Senior Executive Team at West Coast Institute of Training in Perth, where she held the role of Executive Director Education and Social Sciences, and Higher Education. She has also worked as an Advanced Skills Lecturer with West Pilbara College of TAFE where she delivered training across a broad range of Health and Community Services disciplines in regional and remote communities.

Kim is a passionate advocate for work relevant, innovative, quality vocational education and training and since joining CDU has developed strong and strategic relationships across NT business and industry, the community and government sectors.  She is the inaugural Deputy Chair VET CDU Academic Board, a member of the VET Learning and Teaching Committee, a member of the National Direct Care and Support Industry Reference Committee, and Deputy Chair of the National Early Childhood Education Industry Reference Committee. 

Her academic qualifications include a Master of Educational Studies, Bachelor of Social Science (Children and Family Studies) and a Diploma of Community Services (Disability Work).  She also holds post graduate and vocational qualifications in Training and Development and Workplace Training and Assessment.   Kim commenced the role on 1 July 2018.
