Scholarships for Casuarina campus residents

A new scholarship program has been launched for Charles Darwin University students who live on Casuarina campus.

International House Darwin (IHD) will provide 10 scholarships valued at $1000 each to students who have demonstrated academic and community excellence as a resident of IHD.

CDU Student Accommodation Manager Dr Philip Mosely said the scholarships, which would be available from Semester 2, would continue to develop IHD’s supportive community.

“One of the planks of any academic support program is financial assistance through merit-based scholarships,” he said.

“IHD has the further ambition of expanding these scholarships in the years to come.”

Dr Mosely said the monetary assistance was aimed at those residents who were committed to academic success while contributing to the communal life of IHD.

“Part of the criteria includes demonstrated involvement in the community while maintaining a superior credit average. Applicants are also asked to provide examples of how they show consideration towards other residents,” he said.

To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled full time in a higher education course and must have already lived at IHD for two consecutive semesters.
