Charles Darwin University representatives have attended a global conference in India as part of a partnership with the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) Ghaziabad.

The CDU academics recently joined more than 80 partners at the three-day Global Partners’ Conclave following CDU’s signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with IMT in late 2014.

Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Law, Education, Business and Arts Professor Giselle Byrnes presented a brief paper as part of a panel discussion at the event, which addressed the current economic challenges in higher education and the potential of educational institutions forming strong global alliances.

Master of Business Administration coordinator Dr Rajeev Sharma said the conference provided excellent networking and potential research collaboration opportunities with a number of highly ranked global institutes of higher learning.

Dr Sharma also presented a panel paper as part of a discussion about entrepreneurship.

“IMT is one of the highly regarded premium institutes of business education in India,” he said. “We are very fortunate to have this MOU with them and to build on this relationship.”

Participants at the event came from higher learning institutions from around the world, including England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Israel and the United States.
