Unilodge at Casuarina Shopping Centre has opened its doors to Charles Darwin University students for semester one.

The eight-storey facility caters for a variety of budgets with a mix of studio, and two and four-bedroom apartments. Each contemporary apartment is fully self-contained, air-conditioned, and includes a TV, study desk, kitchenette and bathroom.

Residents also have access to media and games rooms, bikes, a car hire scheme and can become involved in a “community spirit program”.

Unilodge Chief Operating Officer Ms Eleanor Davidson said students could get involved in a range of activities from enjoying a traditional Aussie barbecue to raising money for not-for-profit organisations.

“Many of our residents are at a very important stage in their lives and we want to create communities that contribute to growth, maturity and leadership,” Ms Davidson said. “Being able to socialise and make friends with people from multicultural backgrounds helps residents to gain appreciation about global diversity.”

Unilodge is located 800 metres from Casuarina campus.
