Jamie Finn and Lyle Mellors greet Administrator the Honourable John Hardy OAM, and Mrs Marie Hardy
The Northern Territory Administrator has made his first visit to a regional Charles Darwin University campus during a trip to Alice Springs recently.
His Honour the Honourable John Hardy OAM and Mrs Marie Hardy met several staff and toured part of the campus, with a promise to return on a future trip to the Alice.
Acting Director Central Australia Lyle Mellors said the Administrator was impressed with what he heard and the parts of the campus he saw.
“We were delighted to have had the opportunity to show the official party our nursing ward and business and IT facilities,” Mr Mellors said.
“It was not possible to do a full tour of the campus on this occasion, but the Administrator has indicated his interest in viewing the rest of the campus at another time.”
Mr Mellors said the Administrator and his wife expressed an interest in the hospitality training that takes place through the Desert Lantern restaurant.
“They are hopeful that a future visit can be arranged so they can attend dinner at the Desert Lantern.”
